Ferntree Gully CFA collect old car,boat and motorcycle batteries as a means of raising money for charity as part of the Melbourne Firefighter Stair Climb.Some recipients in recent years have been the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute - they work in the prevention and treatment of infant and child related illness, Lifeline and Blackdog - who assist in dealing with mental health.
