About
TRAKS, is a partnership between Textile Recyclers Australia and Karie Soehardi Consultancy, the program keeps furnishing textile waste out of landfill by transforming unwanted rugs and textiles, into yarns that can be used to create new furnishings.
To date there hasn’t been commercial recycling capabilities for rugs in Australia. As a result, unwanted textiles are commonly incinerated or thrown into landfill.
Textiles are sorted and documented for:
Fibres and weaves
Fit for repurpose
Shredding
Contamination and disposal
TRAKS works with industry brand owners who have committed to being responsible for not only their products ‘end of life cycle’ but for industry’s unwanted rugs and furnishings. The fibres are then spun into new furnishing yarns. In no way does TRAKS add to other countries waste streams.

Pick-up available
Pick-up details: TRAKS has two options for VIC and NSW. RUGS Place an order for rugs to be picked up through our site. Drop off rugs at one of our depots on scheduled date and time. or contact recycle@trakstextiles.com for commercial rug disposal FURNISHING TEXTILES Book a pick up of your furnishings through the TRAKS website. Bins are provided for furnishing textiles at your business location.
