Epson has stepped up its partnership with Planet Ark to the highest level by becoming a Full Partner of ‘Cartridges 4 Planet Ark’. With over 3.5 million Epson printer cartridges already recycled, this commitment will build on this 14 year product stewardship success story. So why does Epson believe this is the right thing to do?
Recognising that by participating in ‘Cartridges 4 Planet Ark’ there are many benefits for customers and businesses alike, Epson sees the zero-waste-to-landfill guarantee as a key factor. It promotes and enables strengthened sustainability whilst mitigating risk relating to hazardous e-waste.
General Manager, Business Division at Epson Australia, Craig Heckenberg, said, “As cartridges are made up of a complex mix of plastics, metal and inks they represent a significant investment in resources. When they are disposed of into landfill these resources are lost. This program collects and returns cartridges for remanufacturing and recycling - therefore keeping them out of landfill. That’s also why Epson believes in this program and wants to be a key partner in it.”
Businesses using Epson print consumables have access to the free ‘Cartridges 4 Planet Ark’ program and are also rewarded with resource recovery certificates and a potential reduction in waste costs.
