Blaxland Resource Recovery and Waste Management Facility provides free waste disposal services for household quantities of various types of waste.
Please note, some items are only accepted from Blue Mountains residents - check in advance before dropping off.
Blue Mountains residents only can drop off the following items for free:
-Mobile phones
-X-ray films
-Scrap metal and white goods
- Extended E-waste, Electrical items (anything with a cord)
-Polystyrene
-Blister packs
-Soft plastics
Blue Mountains residents and non-Blue Mountains residents can drop off the following items for free to the EPA funded Community Recycling Centre:
-Car batteries
-Gas bottles
-Fire extinguishers
-Engine oil
-Paint, smoke detectors, fluoro globes and tubes, other oil and household batteries (as this is a household service, a nominal 10kg for batteries and 20L or 20kg limit applies for other items - chemicals from commercial or industrial premises will NOT be accepted)
-Televisions
-Computers
-E-waste with small, embedded batteries such as e-readers, smart watches, speakers, headphones (2-year trial, ending September 2026)
-E-waste with large embedded batteries such as powerpacks, vacuum cleaners, electric scooters and large toys (2-year trial, ending September 2026)
-Textiles (clothing of any kind, accessories such as belts, hats and shoes, as well as home and outdoor soft furnishings, towels, sheets, cushions, pillows, blankets and even soft toys)
-Plastic Pots (labelled PP5)
