Service description: Batteryback™ is collecting all domestic alkaline (single use) and rechargeable batteries including Nickel Cadmium (NiCd), Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) and Lithium Ion (Li-Ion).
Why shouldn't I put rechargeable batteries in the rubbish bin?
Because they can include eco-toxic metals such as cadmium, mercury and lead, which can be harmful to the environment when disposed of to landfill. The metals can leak from the battery and contaminate soil and groundwater.
