Service description: Camera Recycling Australia is a voluntary recycling initiative established by Nittram Photographic Services.
Its two main goals are to maintain high environmental standards, and the commitment to product stewardship within the photographic industry.
Dropbox locations have been established with camera shops around Australia.
Over 90% of the plastics and metals in cameras, batteries and accessories can be recovered and used as raw materials to make new products. Cameras may also contain small amounts of potentially hazardous substances which, if not handled correctly at the end of their lives, can harm the environment.
