Website: Cartridges 4 Planet Ark
Service description: ‘Cartridges 4 Planet Ark' is an example of an effective extended producer responsibility program.
The cost of collecting, transporting, and recycling the cartridges, as well as promoting the program, is paid for by the participating equipment manufacturers - Brother, Canon, Epson, HP< Konica Minolta and Lexmark.
Our Resource Recovery Partner is Close the Loop. They are independently audited on an annual basis for its zero waste to landfill guarantee, as are the manufacturers' reprocessing plants.
If your workplace or business uses more than three (3) inkjet, toner cartridges or toner bottles a month you may be eligible for a free ‘Cartridges 4 Planet Ark' collection box.
Accreditation: Close The Loop, Planet Ark's resource recovery partner, is both ISO 9001 certified and ISO14001 certified
Fees do not apply
Pick-up details: Businesses in regional areas will need to organise a courier service or drop off full boxes to their nearest Post Office. All costs are covered.
Additional information: To make the cartridges program as environmentally efficient as possible it‘s important that each box returns enough cartridges to justify its production and delivery.
If your workplace is unlikely to return the minimum number of cartridges, we encourage you to use the drop-off boxes in our retail collection partners (participating Australia Post, Dick Smith, The Good Guys, JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Officeworks, Office National and Office Product Depot outlets).
