Transpacific-Cleanaway Grounds Entire Garbage Truck Fleet

Date: 20-Aug-14
Author: Ryan Collins

Waste collections have been suspended across Australia in areas serviced by Cleanaway trucks after a fatal road accident in South Australia.

It was reported that the decision by Transpacific to withdraw all of its Cleanaway trucks from service was taken to check the safety of its national fleet of 2,800 trucks.

Those affected by this decision have been asked to leave their bins out if they have not been emptied. Collections are expected to occur over the coming days but it is unsure exactly when due to the backlog created. In some areas, garbage collection may be prioritised before recycling so bins may be collected on different days.
