Boost to Regional Recycling and Waste Management in SA

The South Australian State Government will provide $1.45 million in funding to projects in the Murray Malley, the South East, the Southern and Hills region, the Central Region and the Eyre Peninsula to further improve waste management across the State.

Funding is designed to meet up to half the total project cost. The State Government contribution for each project is:

Murray Mallee Region

  • Mid Murray Council - Mannum Resource Recovery Centre Development, $140,000
  • Renmark Paringa Council - Renmark Waste Transfer Station, $140,000
  • DC Loxton Waikerie - Loxton Waste Transfer Station, $138,000
  • Rural City of Murray Bridge - Brinkley Transfer Station upgrade, $105,000
  • Mid Murray Council - Transfer station upgrades (Cambrai, Truro, Morgan), $88,500

South East Region

  • DC Robe - Waste transfer station and resource recovery facility, $140,000
  • Southern & Hills Region
  • Alexandrina Council - Goolwa Waste & Recycling Depot $140,000
  • District Council of Mt Barker - Hartley (mobile crushing plant for construction and demolition material), $140,000
  • Adelaide Hills Regional Waste Management Authority - Hartley landfill (Callington) mobile baler, $35,000
  • Milang Environmental Centre - Recyclables storage shed, $14,625
  • District Council of Mt Barker - Windmill Hill transfer station upgrade (mattress shed), $11,000.

Central Region

  • Northern Areas Council transfer stations – Gladstone (new), Jamestown (upgrade), $140,000
    Eyre Region
  • City of Port Lincoln - Transfer station upgrade, $140,000
  • Wudinna District Council Bin bank sites and waste depot upgrade, $77,212.50
